About Walter

Walter Beasley, born on May 24th, 1961, in El Centro, California, is a highly accomplished musician, composer, and professor. He holds the distinction of being the highest-selling full-time Professor/Recording Artist in modern history. With his unique blend of talent and educational expertise, Beasley has left an indelible mark on the world of music.

Beasley's journey in music began at a young age when he started singing with a band called Los Elegantes when he was just 13 years old. His passion for music drove him to pursue higher education, and in 1984, he graduated from Berklee College of Music. The very next year, Beasley became a professor at Berklee, sharing his knowledge and experience with aspiring musicians.

Throughout his illustrious career, Beasley has released an impressive discography of 27 albums, spanning from his self-titled debut album, "Walter Beasley," in 1987, to his most recent release, "Meet Me At My Place" in 2022. His albums showcase his skills as a soprano saxophonist and singer, covering various genres such as jazz, R&B, and soul. Notable albums include "Sax Meditations," "I'm Back," "Blackstreams," and "Going Home."

Aside from his musical accomplishments, Beasley is also a successful entrepreneur. He founded and serves as the CEO of Affable Publishing and Affable Records, highlighting his commitment to both creating and promoting excellent music. Additionally, he has authored two books, "Performance Insight for Musicians" and "Nice and Easy Cookbook, a colection of air fryer and slow cooker recipes" which demonstrate his broad range of interests and talents.

Beasley's contributions to the African American music community have been widely recognized. Since 1998, he has consistently ranked among the top 10 best-selling African American saxophonists globally, a testament to his immense popularity and influence.

In March 2023, after a five-year hiatus, Beasley embarked on a tour across the United States. This tour not only marked his highly anticipated return to live performances but also coincided with the release of new music, including tracks like "Déjà Vu," "Nice and Easy Ft Najee," "Lil' Darlin'," and "Do You Wanna Dance." Additionally, Beasley introduced a culinary venture with the release of his cookbook. Fans can also look forward to a forthcoming album later in the year.
