I am so very blessed to be a part of so many tributes to a legend among legends. I remember when he died and everybody got saxophonists to play I wondered why I was never asked to be a part of anything. I now know that sometimes it serves no purpose to ask why. Patience and practice are always rewarded and to be a part of so many tributes to honor the work and life of Grover Washington Jr is an incredible blessing. I finally got a chance to meet his wife and kids and now know why he spoke of them so often. They are an incredible family and I am just grateful to be a part of it all
